Wukong the new League of Legends champion is a beast and very fun to play. Wukong primary role is to inflict dps while decoying the enemy champions. Wukongs abilities allow him to strike from afar (nimbus strike) and then create an image of himself to distract enemy champions (decoy) and run away if need be. Not to mention he comes equipped with the legendary monkey king staff and has a move that will inflict extra damage on your next hit.

League of Legends Wukong Nimbus Strike

How to play Wukong- Wukong is to be played as a hit and run champion. In the beginning of the game it is recommended to purchase Dorans Blade to increase dps and health which is a very useful starting weapon. I will upgrade my first ability in Nimbus strike, then once I hit level 2 get decoy and start targeted enemy champions with Nimbus strike then use decoy to leave with no damage.

If you can work this effectively you can push the enemy back to his tower and now they are on the defensive. The next item to go for are Berserkers Greaves, which increase Wukongs movement speed and attack speed. Wukongs main disadvantage is his speed so its best to acquire these boots early in game and perhaps pick up the Ghost spell to chase enemy champions or run back to base. Be careful not to start an all out brawl with Wukong because if he is targeted by the enemy team then you will not last long. Wukong has decent health but he is not a tank which means you will get targeted. Just look for ways to help your teammates gank enemy champions or keep using the nimbus strike/decoy combo to push lanes. I normally go for Trinitiy Force (even though its very costly) after the Berserkers Greaves and by that time you should be a DPSing machine.

Wukong's Volcanic Skin

If you follow those basics you will definitely know how to play Wukong as a well rounded champion. However here are the advantages and disadvantages of playing as Wukong.

Pros- Decent character all around as far as staying alive and inflicting damage. I have seen other League of Legends playerscarry a team with Wukong if you utilize his nimbus strike and decoy attacks properly.

Cons- He is a slow character which makes it hard to play catch up if you normally have to run back and forth to the base. For some reason Wukong cannot get a majority of the killing blows which means your teammates will usually get the kill. I have experienced this using Wukong myself and other Wukong players have as well.

Overall- though Wukong is a fun character to play as and isn't to difficult to learn. I recommend trying him out at least once especially if you enjoyed the Dragon Ball Z series. I mean nimbus cloud, magic staff, and a monkey tail what more could you ask for lol!

Nintendo 3DS HD Pictures

The Nintendo 3DS is like having a portable Xbox/PS2/Gamecube in your hand. Not only are the graphics in 3D but the 3DS can also go online, take HD pictures, download Gameboy games directly to a SD card, and be used as a mp3 player.

Nintendo 3DS HD pictures are high quality and can be stored on the SD that it comes with. I was planning on buying a new camera but after seeing that my 3DS takes HD quality pictures and my cell phone does as well, why bother?

The controls on the 3DS are a big upgrade from the normal directional pad because it comes with a mini joystick pad that makes games like Super Street Fighter 4 and Dead or Alive a lot easier to play on hand helds. I also really like the sleek metallic design that the 3DS has because it feels very modern.

Graphics- The graphics are quite amazing, I turned my Nintendo 3DS on when I got home and was staring at the screen wondering how Nintendo created a hand held device that had Xbox like graphics. I remember playing on those big fat gray Gameboy's like it was yesterday and now cell phones have free apps that have better graphics. Technology has come a long way in such a short amount of time.

Here is an example of how good the graphics are for this hand held device. Doesn't that remind you of the Gamecube graphics that was out just 5 years ago?

Not only are the graphics very detailed but the 3D images do work and without those annoying glasses! (When will the movies learn)

There is however a few cons to having such detailed 3D images on a hand held. The first is that sometimes the images blur for poorer quality games, which can get very annoying. The second con is that after staring into the device for about 20 minutes you will develop a slight headache. One solution to the headaches are to just pause the game and take a break (eat a sandwich you lazy bums) or you can turn down the 3D graphics. Even when the 3D graphics are turned off the images are more detailed than a regular DS which is nice.

Nintendo 3DS Rates: (Can you tell that I like the aqua color?)

Graphics 9/10, For a hand held device what more can you ask for? The images are in 3D, require no glasses and not to mention look like your playing the previous generation of consoles.

Controls 8/10 The controls are similar to the Nintendo DS except the addition of the mini joystick which I like, and a new home button.

Audio 7/10 The only reason I rated the audio is because of the issue I have with the volume. It doesn't seem to get as loud as previous Gameboy's which is kind of disappointing. They are loud enough to hear but if you have the TV on or loud neighbors good luck trying to block out distractions.

Features 9/10 When I read that the Nintendo 3DS can take HD pictures I was impressed but the features don't stop there. The 3DS has WiFi capabilities to download older games, a sound management section for listening to music, a Mii character, and much more.

Overall, I am pretty impressed with the Nintendo 3DS and recommend purchasing one with the recent price cut from $249 to $169. You will definitely be seeing more Nintendo 3DS game reviews coming, (especially for Star Fox :).

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 is Ravens latest video game that utilizes their tried and true action rpg formula. This is the 4th installment to their marvel action rpg's after X-men Legends and the first Marvel Ultimate Alliance. If you're a fan of super heroes and comics than this game was made for you. This game does implement some new features that make the game play a bit more dynamic than just mashing the A button, such as the Fusion special powers. Not to mention the host of 24 payable characters to keep it interesting.

If only Dead Pool had Mjolnir

The games storyline is based off of the Civil War series where during the middle of the game you have to choose anti or pro registration for revealing super hero identities. This decision will change the path you take during game play and will also change a few of the available characters (which pissed me off cuz I had to go back and redo it on legendary). The storyline could have been a bit more engaging but it was sufficient enough to keep me entertained. This game is basically a Marvel dungeon crawler because you go through levels just obliterating hordes of enemies while collecting fun items/artifacts to unlock 3 powerful characters (Thor shows his godly powers in this one).

I am hoping that X-Men Destiny will have similar fighting style features to this game. I also searched for any rumors about Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 but couldn't find any relevant information about it coming out. Hurry up Raven and make us Marvel comic fans another sequel!
Graphics 7/10 Not horrible graphics for the 360 but definitely not the best either. The cut scenes look almost as if you're watch an Iron Man movie drunk or something, but we can all expect the low edge graphics from the previous titles.

Gameplay 7/10 This game is loads of fun if your a fan of Marvel or comics in general but if you don't care for super heroes then I would stray away from this title.

Audio 8/10 All the characters sound like their normal selves and come with a few funny jokes here and there. Especially Dead pool's and Hulk's, make sure you ask a few questions with them.

Replay Value 7/10 It was a hard decision because I think it deserves more than a 7 but at the same time the game does get repetitive. It is fun though replaying both pro-registration and anti-registration on different difficulties.

Overall this game is a 7 and a rent would suffice for super hero fans. If you can't wait like me for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 there is Marvel vs Capcom 3 to hold us off for a while.

Has anyone heard any rumors of Marvel Ultimate alliance 3 yet?

Here is a cool game trailer in case you are wondering what the game play looks like.

Click here for your free month of GameFly

This special review on GameFly is not about video games but about a company that I believe is going to see profits close to Netflix. GameFly is a mail based video game company that allows you to rent video games directly to your house (Netflix for Gamers!). Part of the reason I started writing this blog was to inform gamers about which games not to waste their money (or even time in some cases).

If you want to save even more money and receive a buy one month get one free click my referral link GameFly Referral Link. This will allow you to receive a free month if you sign up through my referral enjoy!

GameFly is a great resource for gamers who love to play a vast amount of games but doesn't want to pay the full price (usually $60) for every single one of them. Gamefly allows you rent up to 2 games per month for $22 or 1 game for $15. I honestly think the 1 game for $15 isn't saving you money and not worth it. The reason being is that the only con to using Gamefly is the slow..slow...slow shipping time compared to Netflix. Gamefly in some cases can take up to a full week to receive and ship a game to me when Netflix will do it in 3 days. However movies only cost $20-$40 depending if you went for Blu-ray while video games are $60 and therefore worth the extra wait.

The picture to my right is how I feel now when I get that email on my phone saying your game has been shipped. Well maybe not that excited : )

Not only do I try to quickly run through games and try to score all the achievement points all day but I often find myself stuck on my GameFly app on my phone, adding games to the que.

GameFly Rates:
Convenience 8/10 GameFly probably saves me an average of $80 per month because I normally would have bought at least 2 games.

Fun Factor 8/10 For $22 a month I can't think of anything that would provide more entertainment at that cost.

Overall Value 8.5/10 I would normally give this a 9/10 value but I don't like the seemingly long waiting for games to be received. If GameFly shortens the wait time to at least 3-4 days instead of 5, I will be a life long customer (that is if they don't raise the prices like Netflix just did).

Child of Eden Review

Child of Eden is every rave lovers video game dream.
This game is based on visually stunning effects and details as well as one epic techno play list. I spent a few hours myself searching and downloading the music in Child of Eden. This game was designed for techno loving rave fans that have nothing better to do than trip out on drugs and play these kinds of games. The missiles are called Euphoria bombs like as if that was original.
Don't get me wrong this game does have its perks such as the graphics are done very well and will give anyone who can't handle fast flying and flashing images a seizure. I mean just look at the details of this in game screen shot;

How you implement game play into a game based on visually beautiful pictures, a great soundtrack and not copy Dance Dance Revolution is the tricky part.

The game play is quite simple (almost to simple) for kinect users you use your hand to aim at the target viruses and shoot. With the controller which is easier but not as fun, you aim with the joystick and button mash A. The enemy which is a "virus" (orange and pink discolored images) has started to corrupt a data file known as Eden which you are sent out to eradicate. The storyline doesn't really get much more involved than that.

I have to admit, I find myself quite enthralled by the images and music while playing this game but I was just expecting more in the actual game play.

Child of Eden Rates:

Gameplay 6/10 This game can get old pretty quick once you have seen the detailed graphics a few times and downloaded the sound track.

Graphics 9/10 The graphics are very sharp and make you feel as if you are traveling through a Ravers mind while in Ectasy.

Audio 8/10 The soundtrack is pretty impressive in this game.

Replay Value 5/10 After a quick run through of this game and I doubt you will want to pick it back up again. At least until you forget what the graphics look like, this game is definitely a rent.

What do you ravers out there think about Child of Eden? I'm also wondering what people think about this game if they don't like listening to techno music (must be unbearable). I however do enjoy techno music and enjoy this video :)
(well almost). I just pre-ordered my copy of Star Wars the Old Republic last week and all I have to say is.. about damn time!

I have always been a fan of the Castlevania series since the super nintendo, but this one puts the icing on the cake. Castlevania Lords of Shadow takes a different spin on the original games by combining castle wall climbing, and using your whip to swing through the forest like in Ninja Gaiden and Assassins Creed. The creators of this game did an excellent job staying true to the Castlevania game play, while adding new the wall scaling features.

The castle climbing isn't as intricate as Assassins Creed but it does add a lot of fun to the game. I mean seriously, haven't you ever had the feeling of staring at a giant castle and just wanted to strap on a harness and spider man that shit?! I know I have.

Anyways, Castlevania Lords of Shadow also did a great job on the storyline for this game. I felt like I was watching a movie during the cut scenes and did I mention that Christopher Lee (Saruman) does the narrating?
Freakin sweet, who else would you want to read you a bed time story about devils, demons, vampires, and chasing after a fallen love rather than Saruman himself? (maybe Morgan Freeman but I don't think they had that kind of budget).

In Castlevania Lords of Shadow you play as Gabriel, one of the earliest members of the Belmont family. The story takes you through forests, swamps, cliffs, and castles searching for answers about the death of Marie. Throughout the campaign you gain artifacts from defeating bosses such as Lycans, Vampires, Necromancers, and giant Golems, which aid Gabriel in defeating the devil. The fighting controls in this game are seamless and integrated well. Of course one of Gabriel's main weapons is the whip which is quite fun to use, as well as some artifacts he obtains along the way. The graphics in this game are amazing! I would spend a couple minutes staring at waterfalls and castles trying to figure out if I will ever be able to draw that well one day.

Castlevania Lords of Shadow is a great addition to the Castlevania series and I definitely recommend playing this game. I hope Konami keeps up with this style of game play for the series and makes a few sequels.
What do you guys think about this game?
Do you like the new style or the 2-D side scrolling better?

Castlevania Lords of Shadow rates:

Gameplay 8/10 This game switches back and forth between action, solving puzzles, and castle climbing all the while integrating an epic storyline. What more can you ask for?

Graphics 9/10 Lords of Shadow did an excellent job on the graphics. I had to give this game a 9 out of 10 when I realized that I stopped playing just to admire the background.

Audio 7/10 If the soundtrack would have been as epic as the other Castlevania games then this game would have been easily a 9 out of 10 overall, but the music was pretty average.

Replay Value 8/10 Normally in these kind of action adventure games you will be satisfied playing them through once. Not true for this game, I haven't played since last December but I'm dying to pick it up again.

If your a fan of Castlevania or this kind of genre of gaming, then I would definitely buy this one.
Coming out on October 18th this game comes with a couple new yet familiar characters.

Arkham City: Batman Robin and Catwoman

Robin will be a playable character on challenge maps if you pre-order the game from Best Buy. I heard it was exclusive to Best Buy pre-orders only so I would recommend purchasing the game from Best Buy just in case (Robin looks pretty badass in this game if you ask me).

You are also able to play as Catwoman for a rumored 10% of the game during the single player campaign (not a great amount of time but better than Robins exclusivity). Catwoman is reportedly a fun character to play as because her fighting style stays true to her feline abilities and swiftness. She doesn't receive new gadgets throughout the campaign like Batman does but she is equipped with cat claws and a whip (don't all women come equipped with these?)

The main focus of the game is still centered around Batman and his progression through the campaign. Batman's controls in this game are still said to be impressive and stay true to Arkham Asylum. In this game Batman's cape comes with a new gadget that allows him to glide over Arkham City.

This new feature might make me waste a few minutes flying around Arkham City aimlessly like a pissed off drunken Batman looking to beat up some thugs.

As far as the villain goes in this game the Riddler is the main attraction this time. Of course the Riddler will provide Batman with a few new challenges and puzzles throughout the game such as hostage situations and more.

This game looks promising and I will definitely be purchasing and reviewing this game when it comes out on October 18th. If your a fan of the Transformers series/movies or like to blow $h1t up then this game is for you. The storyline is pretty interesting because it goes through a Decepticon and Autobot campaign about the War for Cybertron which shows you how Cybertron became so devastated. This game gets really fun when you start blasting away at other transformers and then transforming into tanks to really starting blowing them all to hell. Did I mention that you can also be Starscream and turn into a jet and fly through parts of Cybertron while being shot at by Autobots. Also, the graphics are done quite nicely because even though they are not the best details I have ever seen they still make you feel like you're in a different mechanical world.

Overall I was very surprised how well High Moon Studio (the developers) made this game. It is fun to pick between different Autobots and Decepticons while changing back and forth between forms.

There is also a release date set for 2012, for Transformers War for Cybertron 2.

Gameplay 7/10 - This game is a great buy for Transformer fans, but I would say rent it otherwise. Lots of action and high speed vehicle chasing (just how Michael Bay likes it) makes it fun game to play.

Warning! This post is going to be very long. Those whose eyes strain from gathering to much information beware!

Here is a list of my top 5 must play games that have been released within the past year. These games all come on different platforms (consoles, PC) and are definitely worth buying (in my opinion)!

Lets start off with my favorite game of all time.. Better yet favorite series, Halo Reach. This game brought my hopes back for the Halo franchise. The last two Halo releases before this really left a bad taste in my mouth. Although Halo O.D.S.T. was fun, it was honestly worth a rent and that's it. Halo 3 on the other hand, not so much. Halo 3 was a fail in my opinion, because the game lost its fun factor and didn't have the same feeling as the other Halo games. The game required no skill. You could be 5 years old, find the hammer, and run around smashing people off the map as if you were playing S.S. Bros. Not to mention, was it just me or were the graphics a little to intense and laggy? Every time I played Halo 3 my eyes would start to burn after about half an hour of playing.

Anyways, Halo Reach fixed all the issues I had with Halo 3 and turned this game into another classic. Not only does it remind me of Halo 2, based on skill required to play online, and the fun factor, but this game has better graphics too. The Halo Reach campaign is done very well because it immerses you into the story and reveals what happened to all the Spartans before Halo 1. The co-op campaign is also really fun to play online because you can play with your friends (up to 4) and each be a member of noble team. I played co-op campaign the second time around and it felt like I was doing a whole new campaign. It's also really fun to hear people talking and saying things while you are playing like "Shoot the sniper on the upper right of the mountain."

Once you are done playing the campaign, I highly suggest playing on Xbox Live because this is where the real fun begins. Not only do you have an immense amount of different game styles to choose from such as; Swat, Team Slayer, Headhunter, Zombie, Firefight and much more, but they also implement a play list for classic maps that were on all the previous Halo games (brought back memories for me). You can literally spend countless hours playing this game just by changing game modes, playing split screen with friends, achievement hunting, and leveling up your online rank. I can't wait to see what kind of changes they make for the the remade Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition. I will definitely have a review the day that game comes out, so check back to see if it's worth the cash.

Gameplay 9/10 This game has a great balance between just having fun and actually wanting a challenge.

Graphics 8/10 The graphics were quite normal for an Xbox 360 fps. Some parts of the campaign will make you stop and spend a few minutes staring off a cliff though.

Audio 9/10 The music in this game always gets me pumped up to blow the head off a few grunts

Replay Value 9/10 This game is a classic and can very easily keep you interested.

P.S. Did you know Julia Roberts plays Halo rather obsessively? Kudos on that one. I also read that Dave Chappelle plays Wow. I would love to be running around Orgrimmar and see Rick James playing as a troll with dreads.

My next game that is a must buy is also a first person shooter game. Call of Duty: Black Ops made me a fan of the COD series. I never liked to play older COD games because I was always a Halo fan and felt like a traitor if I played these games. That all changed when my girl friend played Black Ops avidly and said that she was better at this game than I was. (Is that a challenge?) So as any good boy friend would do, I made her stop what she was doing and play split screen with me. She won the first two games, but by the next hour I got the hang of the controls and was already beating her. Next thing you know I am online scoring in the top 3 (even though it was only prestige level 1). Needless to say, she bought Black Ops for me so that I wouldn't borrow her game and never give it back lol.

The campaign is actually amazing! I played the entire campaign in one night because I couldn't go to sleep knowing that there was more Russians to be slayed. If you run through the campaign quickly, you will feel like you just starred in the number one action movie.

The online play is also very fun, and somewhat frustrating at first because you die very easily in these games (your not a spartan = no shields). Once you get the hang of it though, it can be very fun going on kill streaks and piloting a Chopper Gunner, or driving an RC car with bombs attached to it. Some of the maps are classics, while others I will literally get pissed that I have to play on them again. There are also 3 map packs out for Black Ops, but so far I have heard negative things about all 3 of them (so don't waste your money).
The zombie mode in Black Ops is really fun. You can even be John F Kennedy, Fidel Castro, and Richard Nixon killing countless Zombies from the White House. The only problem I have with zombie mode is that it can get very repetitive and boring just running around shooting, finding ammo and then you have more shooting and more running. There needs to be more elements involved such as boss zombies or different types of zombies that have special abilities.

I got sucked in and now I am a fan of the Call of Duty series. So come back and check out my review of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, which is set to release on November 8th of this year.

Call of Duty Black Ops rates:

Gameplay 8/10 This game is very fun to play and can give you an adrenaline rush, but its also frustrating at times.

Graphics 8/10 The graphics for this game or as good as I have seen for any military type shooting game. (Besides Crysis 2)

Audio 7/10 The soundtrack is adequate and does the job, but I think they need a better theme song.

Replay Value 8/10 This game can also be played for countless hours online, and maybe the campaign every now and then.

Do you guys like Infinity Ward better or Treyarch? I am a fan of Treyarch so far, but I keep hearing Infinity Ward is better and faster paced. Let me know your thoughts!
Marvel vs Capcom 3 is my next game on the list that you guys need to play. I love when fighting games clash like this and add their characters all in one fighting game! Sometimes the creators do it right, like Capcom vs SNK 2. Other times, they do it completely wrong like Mortal Kombat vs DC. However, Marvel vs Capcom 3 did most things right! First thing I love about this game is that I have been saying since 2002 that they should put Dante from the Devil May Cry series in Marvel vs Capcom games and they did! He is by far one of the most fun characters in all of fighting games. He has guns, a sword, and electric like punches and kicks. Oh yea, he can also turn into a Demon, to really start kicking ass. Marvel also threw in some fun characters such as Deadpool and Thor (not to mention my favorite map Asgard).
The one thing that really made me upset with this game is that there wasn't nearly enough characters as I had hoped. For one thing, Ken isn't even in this game, neither is Gambit... or many of the X-Men for that matter (at least they left Cyclops out). They also forgot about Strider and Captain Commando, which is no bueno.

The graphics in this game are not revolutionary for a 2-D fighting game made 3-D, but they are up to par and a flashing display of ass whooping. The graphics do make this game come to life and are definitely better than most fighting games while still making it the 2-D fighting style, which is legit. The balance and flow of this game was done really well because in previous titles, such as Marvel vs Capcom 2, it was just button mashing and an influx of character special abilities being tossed around hoping that you survive. This game does require knowledge of counter attacks and unique character special abilities, which make it challenging. All in all, if your a fan of Capcom or Marvel, and you want to play as your favorite super hero (well most) then give this game a shot.

Gameplay 8/10 The balance of super heroes and special abilities in this game make it a very fun fighting game.

Graphics 8/10 The shell shaded graphics that make a 2-D fighting game 3-D is amazing! This is the new style of gaming for these kinds of games.

Audio 7/10 This game makes you feel like your in the 90's again at a loud arcade.

Replay Value 7/10 This game is fun to play with friends, but single player can get boring after a while as do all fighting game single player modes.

If anyone from SNK or Capcom is reading this, will you please make a Capcom vs SNK 3?! It's been 11 years since Capcom vs SNK 2.
Star Craft 2: Wings of Liberty has got to be one of the most anticipated RTS games from the past decade. I love RTS games. My brain is just wired to understand and play these kinds of games (I also won a few tournaments). Star Craft 2 really took real time strategy games to a whole new level. The graphics are quite detailed for so many little units and each one them is cool to zoom in and look at. I wish I was blogging about video games last year because I would have been able to provide a lot of details about this game before it went public from beta testing. Oh well, you snooze you lose right?

Blizzard pushed and pushed the release date back on this game until it literally reached perfection (and for good reason). There are still only the 3 races from the original Star Craft which are Zerg, Protoss, and Terran. Each army does come with new, or revamped units though. The online play is so well balanced and fun for everyone because of the skill ladder system. The battles in this game are so detailed that I often find myself just staring at my computer (I have to tell myself to stay focused and keep up my APM -actions per minute). The occasional patches keep the game interesting and creates different strategies, because units that used to be useless are now very key parts of a races army.
This was because the campaign wasn't boring! It was actually a well made campaign which immerses you into the storyline of outlaw Jim Raynor, and his fight to get his Zerg infested girlfriend (Sarah Kerrigan) back to normal ,or purge her through death. The one problem I had with the campaign is not the campaign itself, but the visuals of the loading screen. If I try to replay the campaign, the screen is covered in green lines and I can't see a damn thing. Anyways, hopefully they will fix that in their expansion for the Zerg and Protoss campaigns.
Graphics 9/10 For an RTS game, the graphics here are hard to beat.

Audio 8/10 The theme song stays true to the feeling of the game. I will post a live version of the theme song played by Video Games Live below.

Replay Value 9/10 I remember playing the Beta version of this game at my friends house everyday from 9:00 p.m. until 6 or 7 in the morning for a month straight. Seeing the sunrise while playing Star Craft 2 was a feeling I won't forget.
This has won many awards for best basketball video game and is the only game that has Michael Jordan in it. This is probably the hardest, yet rewarding, basketball video game around. It doesn't allow you to just run up to the basket and do a 360 flip in the air and dunk while Dwight Howard is standing right in front of you like NBA JAM does. I mean don't get me wrong I love Jam, but this game provides a challenge. The cool features about this game are during the season it would update the roster and players stats on a daily basis. It would also tell you which basketball games were being played that night.

As far as game play goes in this game; you have to learn plays, learn defense, and practice shooting a lot! Even if you make a perfect shot, it is only going to go in 60% of the time. The feeling of an intense game, and making a 3 pointer for the win, is probably just as fun as if you were playing basketball in real life (maybe not but close).
The one downside about this game is that the online play is not only very competitive, but you have to get used to a slight lag in the game. Other than that, I think 2K sports stole the basketball franchise away from EA when they "forgot" to release a basketball game this year.

NBA 2K11 rates:

Gameplay 8/10 This game is perhaps the most realistic video game for basketball.

Graphics 7/10 The graphics are average for a sports game, hopefully they will do better with future titles and get up to par with Madden.

Audio 9/10 The soundtrack on this game is amazing. I downloaded a few songs from this soundtrack because I couldn't get them out of my head.

Replay Value 8/10 This game will always be fun until the next season comes out. Until then, you can play this game all day.

X-Men: Destiny, which is set to hit stores this fall, is definitely going to be top on my list of games to buy. Not only was X-Men: First Class one of the best this summer, but it also made me realize that there haven't been any really good X-Men games out since the short lived X-Men Legends and Marvel Ultimate Alliance series. I dug into my GameInformer magazine and found an article that spills a few details of the upcoming game. It is a action/rpg (role playing game) that involves choosing and evolving your characters abilities and stats. The story line is a bit different than usual because the game is set in an alternate reality in which Professor X is dead and Cyclops (I honestly never could figure out why Cyclops is always the leader) has taken command. The game allows you to choose one of three brand new mutants to evolve during the game.
Luckily for me, my favorite X-Men character, Gambit is in this game. As well as a host of other X-Men characters such as; Wolverine, Night Crawler, Cyclops, Colossus etc. Apparently, the X-Men characters will be intertwining with your characters throughout the game to get you to join them (as in every other X-Men related content). The brotherhood characters will also be showing up to try and get some new recruits. This game looks promising, and I'm excited for it to come out.

I know there is Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1 and 2 with X-Men characters, but does anyone know another decent X-Men Game?
League of Legends was developed by Riot Games. The best thing about this game is that it is absolutely free to download and play! (Only problem is you have to either fork over cash to buy your favorite characters or play as much as an MMO to earn points..)

League of Legends is a remake from the creators of the widely popular Defense of the Ancients aka DOTA. DOTA is a famous custom map settings in Warcraft 3. This is probably one, if not the best, free game that you can download online for many reasons. Some being that the design of the game is addicting, loads of people play, and the graphics are visually appealing. Not to mention there are 78 customizable champions to choose from, but only 10 are available a week (unless you pay or spend a massive amount of influence points to unlock them).

The premise of the game is to control one of many champions all with unique strengths and abilities, to fight your way past hordes of spawning troops (called creep), and destroy the enemy base. Don't forget that all the while you will be attacked by enemy champions trying to gank your hero or destroy your base (almost like a video game version of chess). The part that makes League of Legends really interesting is during every game you buy various weapons or gear to increase the stats of your character such as mana, strength, health, etc. The only way to accumulate gold is by killing creep or enemy champions. So some gamers like to focus on leveling by killing massive amounts of creep and obtaining gold for better gear, while others like to focus on killing enemy champions. Usually because I am a greedy person and like Gold :) I like to focus on killing creep and buying better gear before I start focusing on killing champions to know I have the advantage. The game also keeps records of your wins and losses to give you experience points (gain permanent levels) and Influence points (unlocking characters/skins) which is also a rewarding feature that allows players to be matched up with their skill level.

I know it's a little late on the Crysis 2 review, but I felt like doing one because although this game literally brings the best out of Xbox 360's graphics and has a really attention grabbing storyline, the game play just wasn't quite as fun as normal shooters. I can't tell if it's because of the difficulty of the game or the fact that the game kind of strolls along and never gets to intense. This is partly because the enemies will just stop following you when you get out of firing range or cloak yourself. If you were a fan of the first Crysis, then I would definitely buy or rent this game. On the other hand if you're like me and just want to instantly have fun running around shooting people, then stick with Halo and Call of duty.

Crysis 2 overall rating:
Graphics- 10/10 I haven't seen a console game with this good of graphics ever.

Gameplay- 6/10 like I said kind of fun until you get over the detail of the game

Audio- 7/10 fairly average for a fps game

Replay Value- 6/10 I think if you like this kind of game style and graphics, then it will be fun and challenging to beat on another difficulty.

What do you guys think about this game? Was it just me that got bored quickly?
After realizing how annoying it would be to break up the faceplate and screw back in the gpu, I returned my red ringed xbox to gamestop for $40 and bought the new $299 Xbox 360 Slim with Kinect. Here are the pros and cons of the system:

Pros- It's light weight, has a sleek design, the power on and open disc buttons have sensors so you don't really press it (it's actually kinda fun to turn it on lol), the system has built in Wifi, there are extra usb ports and an hdmi port, and the Kinect is at a discounted price when you buy the bundle.

Cons- My biggest concern is how quickly the console overheats, it's supposed to have extra fans but this console heats up 10x faster than my old Xbox and actually makes the discs warm (I'm wondering if this is only a problem with mine, does anyone know?) There is also no Rgb component cable only the standard Ryb one which isn't HD. The Xbox 360 Slim hard drive has only 4 GBs if you get the cheaper one (seriously Microsoft only 4 GBs?!) That's like 1000 songs or 2 full length porn movies. To deal with this issue I just borrowed a small Usb flash drive and use that to save my game data. Do not buy the 250 GB Xbox Slim unless you have extra cash because you can just buy a usb hard drive for $8.

Other than those issues, which can easily be dealt with, the Xbox Slim is a nice rendition of the original Xbox 360 and if you're thinking about buying a new console do it now because the next generation of consoles are rumored to hit in 2013, that is if we make it past 2012 of course ;)

Hunted is such an amazing... Wait no, it completely sucks :( I wanted to like this game because the concept seemed so alluring. Gears of War fighting style mixed with epic fantasy dungeon crawling! How can you screw that up?? Well Bethesda managed to find out how and here's why.

First off, these kinds of games are meant to be played multiplayer. When you start the adventure it doesn't give you an option to play co-op unless you skip the tutorial part, which I don't recommend doing. Once my girlfriend and I figured out how to actually start playing co-op, the split screen literally blacks out half of your TV. Now I have a 48 inch, which getting half of the screen cropped out made it a 24 inch and then it splits the screen for each player. Seriously?? They need to throw a few ninja stars into the developer who let that one slide. We decided to get over it and keep on playing but found ourselves dying, accidentally switching chars with this stupid orb, and wandering around aimlessly through dark tunnels until my girlfriend threw her controller down and went to sleep. What do you guys think about this one? Leave some comments.

I rate this game:

Graphics 6/10- The graphics for this game are very average almost last gen of consoles

Audio 6/10- The audio was also average

Gameplay 5/10 The storyline is ok, but their is no spark to this game.

Replay value 4/10 I highly doubt anyone would like to travel down this boring road again after they beat it

Rent or Buy? Rent

The graphics are amazing and fit very well with the 2D fighting style. The developers did an amazing job making the game play fun and smooth, all the while being exceptionally gory. Everything from saws to the chest, x ray vision of bones breaking, arrows stuck through your leg... and this isn’t even the fatalities. The fatalities literally will leave you either laughing about how crazy that finishing kill was or wondering how this game was allowed to be sold to the general public. Another great aspect to Mortal Kombat was the single player campaign, which was quite lengthy for a fighting game. It actually followed a storyline and had great cut scenes between most fights. The one downside is that if you rent this game you need to pay for a code to play online.

What did we learn?
Graphics- 8/10 Nicely done for a fighting game

Gameplay- 9/10 A lot of OMG this game is epic moments

Audio- 8/10 As far as the sounds of agony and pain go, they were spot on

Replay value- 7/10 A fun game to pick up and play with friends after you already beat it

Rent or Buy- Buy if you are a fan of Mortal Kombat and fighting games
It never happened. Dungeon siege 3 has a great concept for a dungeon crawler like diablo for a console but it failed to make the game enjoyable.

The most frustrating thing is that if you want to play multiplayer only the first players character actually saves. Wtf is up with that who would want to keep playing 2nd player if you have to start over every time? Also, the camera view is annoying because its from almost a complete aerial view so you can't see what's coming in front of your characters. The flame chick is kinda fun for the first 5 minutes of switching between her human form and ethereal flame form but the lack of moves does get uninteresting. The knight seemed very typical of a tank class who also has a two handed sword for dos. Don't even get me started on the fat mage, I mean really? Who wants to play as a fat old dumbledore? And I already had the game in the mailbox before I thought about playin the gun slinging girl.

For a dungeon crawler I would recommend Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 or Torchlight dl through xbox live arcade instead of buying this game.

So this game rated

Graphics- 4/10 Honestly they just switched from the PC platform to console and didn't make to many polishes on the graphics.

Gameplay- 5/10 Muy abburido (currently in a Spanish class)

Audio- 6/10 The sound was average for a dungeon crawler game

Replay value- 6/10 If you are willing to stick to this game then there are 3 other characters to start over as

Rent or Buy? I wouldn't even rent the game at this point
GameNinjaXhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06007140094814682203noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8097380494120068832.post-26736143679287221942011-06-28T22:21:00.000-07:002011-08-12T00:48:00.360-07:00E3 and Video Games Live

Normally to get into E3 you have to be involved in the gaming industry but not if your the GameNinja and know how to sneak your way in. My girlfriend and I were able to enter the first section of E3 and play the newest Street Fighter game, which was pretty much just a visual upgrade of super street fighter 4 with more characters. Another game on my "to buy" list that we were able to see was Lord of the Rings: War in the North. This game looked aesthetically pleasing and had the same feeling as the Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and Return of the King games for Xbox, ps2, and Gamecube. One thing that sucks is you can't be Legolas, Aragorn, or Gimli because it is following a different storyline. Probably the most anticipated game for me is Star Wars the Old Republic for PC. I've literally been waiting since the 09 E3 game trailer. I may be hurting some feelings here (including my own) but SWTOR has the most potential for being a true Wow Killer. If you haven't seen the trailer yet I linked it here:

These were just a few of the games I was able to view considering I wasn't able to get into upper demo section that had more security.

Onto the event that I did actually have a pass for, this was the Video Games Live symphony. First off, let me start by saying have you ever wondered if you would ever get to see that movie moment when a dude gets on his knee and asks his girlfriend to marry him, then everyone starts to cheer? Well that coincidentally happened here and of course the dude introduced himself as Hawk when he got on stage (he also looked like a viking). The best part was his new fiancée (I'm assuming she said yes because you wouldn't want to deny Hawk his Glory) was wearing a shirt that said Epic Fail! What a great start to a gamer marriage Congratz!

Anyway, if you grew up playing Mario or Sonic and you remember the theme songs with fond memories, then Video Games Live is a great concert for you. What VGL does is take the theme songs from the most popular video games such as Mario, Sonic, Street Fighter, (Grammy winning) Civilization 4, Final Fantasy, Warcraft, and oh yes Halo and has a symphony play it in front of you. Here is a picture I took of what the stage looked like from our seats

They would also bring out special guests to either play with the symphony or conduct, such as the kid who played the Mario theme songs blind folded on piano, the creator of the Pokémon theme song (he is a legend), Kinuyo Yamashita who was the composer for the original Castlevania games (to my surprise she was a girl), and the guy who conducted the World of Warcraft music for Cataclysm (which he looked like a giant dwarf, which wasn't to my surprise). All in all, this event is a must see for any type of gamer, young and old. I literally get the chills when I listen to the Halo montage because not only does the music sound awesome, but it reminds me of the Maw campaign level from Halo One and the countless hours my friends and I would spend trying to beat it on heroic. As the last part of this post, I am leaving you with the Halo montage.

GameNinjaXhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06007140094814682203noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8097380494120068832.post-73402770538933742362011-06-28T21:33:00.000-07:002011-06-30T21:08:23.345-07:00GameNinja is here for you real insight on the newest video games and gaming community!<!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <w:LatentStyles DefLockedState="false" DefUnhideWhenUsed="true"
